Our members' kids grow up on this water together. They learn seamanship, leadership, and genuine respect for the ocean—lessons that stick long after they've left the dock. Some go on to race competitively. All of them become part of something that's been shaping young sailors for sixty years.

Foundational training

Learn to Sail

Whether you’re stepping onto a sailboat for the first time or refining your technique, all experience levels. Following the US Sailing Association’s nationally recognized curriculum, this hands-on program emphasizes safety, seamanship, sail trim, and navigation through practical on-the-water experience.
You’ll gain the confidence, skills, and knowledge to sail independently.

Saturday Classes (Semester Program) - January 10 – April 19

Opti Green Fleet

Is your young sailor ready to dip their toes in the water with Opti racing? Then joining the Green Fleet team is the way to go! Perfect for sailors that that have completed intermediate and advanced sailing, they’ll be able to get an even deeper understanding of racing and enjoyment of the sport.

Opti Red, White & Blue Fleet

Green means go! Once your young sailor is ready to move up from Green Fleet, they can join the RWB (red, white, and blue) Fleet. Here, they will hone in on their skills and be able to compete at a more proficient and competitive level.

c420 Practice Team

Our C420 Practice Team is ideal for sailors looking to build skills in double-handed sailing without the pressure of competition. Sailors learn boat handling, teamwork, and the fundamentals of using a trapeze and spinnaker in a supportive, skill-focused environment. It’s a great stepping stone for those interested in joining the race team or sailing recreationally at a higher level.

C420 Regatta Team

The C420 Regatta Team is for committed sailors ready to compete at high-level events across the region and beyond. Training focuses on advanced tactics, boat speed, and race preparation, with an emphasis on teamwork and performance under pressure. Sailors represent the club at major regattas, gaining valuable experience and building toward high school, collegiate, and national competition.
